What is the "Natural Flavor" in Oatly Cream Cheese Plain

Oatly products are consistently tolerated by my "Wide Variety" of Anaphylactic Allergies. This product looks safe to eat for me, except for one question:

I noticed "Oatly Cream Cheese Plain" contains "Natural Flavor". I have never seen this as an Ingredient in other Oatly products.

What is in this "Natural Flavor"? I once noticed an Oatly product that used "Pea Protein" but I do not see it listed anywhere on your website anymore. I have a deadly Anaphylactic Allergy to Pea Protein so I am trying to make sure it is not being used for this "Natural Flavor".

Thanks!

Hey Gwyn,

Happy to help share what I know on this. The natural flavors in our cream cheese do not contain pea protein. With that said, we only test our products for the top 9 allergens in the US, so we aren't specifically testing for pea protein in our facilities or partner facilities.

Hope this helps give you some peace of mind and that you have a lovely day!

Like Gwyn, I also have weird allergies. Is the "natural flavor" in cream cheese sunflower-based?

Thanks,

Hi Jess,

Totally understand how challenging it can be to navigate food allergies that are outside of the top 9 (I am allergic to goat milk myself!). At Oatly, we test for the top 9 allergens and so are able to confirm none of the top 9 allergens are included in the natural flavors that we source. However, we don't have more information about the natural flavor ingredients to share beyond this, as this ingredient is proprietary to our supplier. We don't test for sunflower as an allergen in our cross contamination prevention policies as well, just so you are fully informed on this. I hope this information helps somewhat!

Peace, oats and love.
