Does Oatly 'no sugars' have a lower GI than regular Oatly?
That's basically it. As someone needing to keep a low GI diet should I opt for Oatly 'no sugars' instead of regular Oatly? I can't figure out how they're made differently, this information doesn't seem to be available anywhere. Thanks!

Hi Arghierenia,
Happy to clarify!
When we make oat milk, the starch is transformed into maltose with the help of enzymes (same enzymes that exist in our tummies). When we make our No Sugar, this step is skipped in the process. This means two things; 1) a less sweet taste 2) the breaking down of the starch happens in your digestive system instead.
What happens after this (blood sugar response, etc) depends on the circumstances – for example which other food was eaten together with the No Sugar. It’s also highly individual so if you need a low GI diet, we always recommend to discuss with your medical professional to get proper advice.
Love,
