Just had 6 months old oatly single cream

I hadn’t realised that the oatly cream in my fridge was best before May 2023 and used it for a meal. Worried now that it will make us sick. Any experiences?

Hi Marialena,

No pathogenic bacteria can form in our products and the general rule is that as long as your Oatly product tastes and smells OK, it's fine to use. Should you happen to have a sip of an off or sour oat product by accident, it may cause your stomach to react (as with any food).

All this said, for product quality reasons and best Oatly experience, we do obviously always recommend to use before expiration date.

Any further concerns, please let us know!

Thank you. The smell was not sour and the flavour of the dish was good. We are both ok today so hopefully no upset stomach. I still have 2 portions of the meal left, should I bin it?

Glad to hear that! It's likely fine but if you're the least worried do go for something else.
