Vegan French Toast with Vanilla Frozen Dessert & Blackberry Jam

Whether it's served for breakfast or dessert, this vegan french toast is always a hit. 

INGREDIENTS: 

Serves 4

French Toast:

Heaping 1/2 cup (1 1/2 dl) of gram flour (chickpea flour)

Heaping cup (3 dl) of Oatly oat drink  

3 tbsp potato flour or corn starch

3/4 tsp salt

6 slices of day-old bread

Canola oil or vegan butter for frying

Cinnamon Sugar Mix:

2 tbsp cinnamon

2 tbsp regular sugar

 

METHOD:

  1. Whip the gram flour, oatmilk, potato flour and salt together into a smooth batter.
  2. Let stand and rest.
  3. Mix the cinnamon and sugar in a deep dish.
  4. Turn the bread slices into the batter and let them soak in the batter for a minute or two.
  5. Warm a frying pan and add the oil or butter to melt and fry the bread slices until they are golden.
  6. Turn the bread in the cinnamon sugar. 

Serving:

Serve the freshly fried French Toast with vanilla frozen dessert and blackberry jam.
